Worst-case scenario came to life as COVID cases surged in India and India faced massive oxygen crisis. The crisis did not travel as much to the north-eastern India, thanks to the Non Governmental Organization.

But yesterday, tension emerged at Panda Para near Kharia area of Jalpaiguri as Jalpaiguri Netaji Subhash Foundation and Green Jalpaiguri aimed to open an oxygen parlor for the benefit of the people of Jalpaiguri. Mr. Parthapratim Dey on behalf of the organisations said, ‘We tried to open an oxygen parlor for the people. If people needed oxygen, here they would have got it for free. But the people of this area closed it without understanding anything.’
