Siliguri, 15th July, 2021: As the COVID curve falls, the need for Amit Agarwala Safe Home has been diminished. The authorities involved, hence, has decided to terminate the service for the time being. If need be, the Safe Home will be up and running to provide a safe haven for COVID infected patients in need.
Amit Agarwal Upgraded Safe Home was an initiative of Amit Agarwal Foundation, Lions Club of Siliguri, Siliguri Surjanagar Samajkalyan Sangstha, CCN and COVID Care Network started on 1st of June with the intention to provide a safe abode to COVID patients who did not have adequate facilities to stay in Home Isolation.
Through a ceremony today at the safe home, 8 patients, including an 88 year old and and 3 year old, who have recovered were discharged. On behalf of the administration of all 5 organizations the Doctors, nurses and paramedics who had been serving at the safe home were felicitated for their extraordinary service for the last 45 days.
On behlf of Amit Agarwal Foundation, Basant Agarwal and Arun Thard, were present. Jayanta Saha, Nirmal Saha, Mr. Chachan were present on behalf of Lions Club of Siliguri. Avijit Neogi, Goutam Kar, Tapash Bera, Anjan Kahali, Pranab Dey, Animesh Guha, Prasad Majumder, Tapan Sarkar represented Siliguri Surjanagar Samajkalyan Sangstha. Dr. Sandip Sengupta from COVID Care Network and Aparesh Saha was present from CCN.
