Two Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir , Dhanush M., son of Manjunath from Kadugodi and Hemanth Y.B son of Bhujangashayana from Yadagondanahalli are attempting for Guinness Book of World Record by cycling 24000+Kms in 180 days covering 29 states & 3 Union Territories. This will be the longest Journey by bicycle in a single country.
The message they would be carrying is about global warming and Literacy. They shall try and meet the locals and schools on their journey and educate them about Global warming (Rotary’s newest area of focus : Protecting the Environment) and also create awareness on literacy (Basic Literacy, schooling and Adult Literacy).
The ride was flagged-off on 11th July, 2021 from Vidhan Soudha by District Governor 3190 Rtn Fazal Mahmood. They have reached siliguri on 27th august 2021 (Friday) evening , and we have felicitate them at Hotel Montana vista , Uttarayon from Rotary International Dist. 3240 , Zone 5.
Speaking to media Rtr Dhanush.m and Rtr Hemanth .YB we are attempting Guinness World record and limca book of records we started from Bangalore. Till now we completed 4600km and covered 6 states. Yesterday we arrived at siliguri It was great hosting by Rotary club of siliguri uttorayon , Rotary club of siliguri metropolitan , Rotary club of siliguri green , Rotary club of siliguri believers with support of Assistant governor zone 5 Rtn S.k sinha and club presidents , secretaries & other members.
From Siliguri we will be heading towards East India and discover the seven sisters for one month and will cover Darjeeling. Our aim to awarenes about global warming and literacy in all over india cycling for 24,000 km 29 states and 3 union territories and we are really happy for all the members of Rotary Clubs of siliguri.
